RAW #238 - Woodmont Relays
TONIGHT - We'll be headed to Zilker Park (meet at the volleyball courts) to do a fartlek. Following that, we'll hop into the Springs and make our way back down to Deep Eddy/Pool Burger.AFTER THE WORKOUTHead to the Springs followed by some Deep Eddy / Pool Burger actionNext WeekRollingwood HillRAW AT THE RACESThis past weekend was an absolutely massive RAW weekend. So many people went #HAF it was unreal. Stewart Mickler, Sam Lemelle, Jordie Whittle, Tom Kent, Will Von Rosenberg, and more all killed it at Jacks Generic Tri. For Will and Tom, it was their first ever tri. For Stewart, a 22nd place finish was amazing (2nd in his age group). Want to feel inspired? Don't feel the motivation to get back into training? Talk to Stewart who turned his life around by getting into tri's, running with RAW, and kicking ass on a daily basis. Big ups on your race this weekend Stewart! On the west coast, Daniel Everett and Nathaniel Milles were apart of an Austin contingent (organized, sponsored, and funded by RunLab) that went to one of the world's most prestigious relays races, Hood to Coast. It starts at Mt. Hood and ends on the Oregon coast - the 12 man team from Austin finished the 199 mile race in 3rd overall place, finishing 2nd to a team from Japan and Bowerman Track Club. To finish 3rd is a massive accomplishment and is one of the coolest things RAW has ever been apart of - so if you see Daniel and Nate give them a high five or give them some ups on social media. Way to represent RAW boys! David Boone topped off the weekend with a win in the nighttime 10k trail race, Captain Karl's! Wonderful performance and it's great seeing everyone getting after it on Tuesday, take that same intensity to the weekends and going #HAF all the way to a personal best performance!Announcements-Zilker Relays is on September 7th and RAW hosts the unofficial after-after party. It's also an event we get behind, and with Under Armour's help this year we have some new gear to show off to the rest of Austin (more on that later this week)-If you're running for RAW - sign up on this form ASAP (we really need this to be done by this Thurs) -Speaking of Seaholm Powerplant - we've teamed up with Fleet Feet and have a Friday morning #CAF (chill as fu**) pace run from their store. We start at 6.30am and have people running all kinds of distances and paces - this is the second RAW run on the calendar so you can start your weekend by doing something good to your body before you do bad. {211 Walter Seaholm Dr, Austin, TX 78701 - there's street parking, and Ari will validate all parking if you don't find any}. Come join us! After this run we all get together and drink some coffee and eat a taco next door at Merit Coffee.-We love Deep Eddy and Pool Burger, but a nice reminder here: If you get Thundercloud post workout, please only eat that upstairs in the bar, not downstairs and outside. ***BUY RAW GEAR: Please help fund RAWs efforts to drink more beer and dominate the local running scene by purchasing RAW Gear today!
